About Us

Looking back, it seemed like such a simple thing. We met, ate lunch, and just shared with each other about our ministries. During that sharing, it was amazing to see how similar our goals and dreams were. The Holy Spirit flowed through these conversations. We knew something big was going to happen, we just didn’t know what yet.

A month later, we met again for lunch. Brian and I had just gotten back from the NCCYM in Las Vegas while Pam and St. Jude Church had just hosted Sarah Hart, a Catholic musician. Pam told us that the following June, they would be hosting Steve Angrisano. At this point we had some ideas flowing. Brian extended an invitation for each of us to bring a few of our students down to St. John Bosco for a night of fun and to talk about doing something BIG.

On that night back in January, we crammed ourselves (about 30 students and the 3 of us youth ministers) into a room with a chalkboard and handed things over to the students. How do we live out faith in our daily lives? Who is god? How do we become excited about being Catholic? These were the questions that they had on their minds.

From these ideas we had our theme: Light the Fire. It was about bringing the excitement back into our faith. So from that point on we had less then 5 months to put together a full scale youth rally. Each of us selected 2 or 3 students to be on a planning committee for the rally. The rest is history (or on the front page).

Now our goal is to continue to bring opportunities to this area in order to support the growing youth worker field. It’s so important for us to be able to nourish our own growth in order to nourish that of those we guide. We also look forward to providing more events where the youth of our area can come together and share in Christ’s Love such as Light the Fire. By working together, we all can accomplish more then by working apart. Peace.

 Mission Statement

Our goal as the Combined Youth Ministry is to be able to work with other youth workers throughout the area and provide social, spiritual, or service opportunities to our youth. It is also important for us to be able to network with youth workers in order to support one another in our mission to bring our youth up in the way of Christ.
